I'm Alix.

I spent years writing about restaurants, travel, and life elsewhere. Finding Fox Cross is the next chapter of that story and, strangely enough, a return to where mine started.

I don't have much interest in presenting a perfectly curated country life. Ours isn't one.

But I do believe there is something extraordinary about learning to see an ordinary place well.

So this is my field journal of sorts: what we're cooking, where we're going, what we're making, what I'm learning, and the places and people I think deserve a little more attention.
